Projects
Detached work
The project has been doing regular detached (street based) work since
the project began. This has really helped the project in building
relationships with a variety of young people in the area. It has also
been a good way of finding out what the young people would like to see
going on in the area and how they think the project could help.
After School Youth Cafe (see poster here)
The after school session runs from 3 to 5 pm on Tuesdays (term time) and is open to any young people aged 11 - 14.
This is based at the Youth Hut on the Howdale. We try to have
a variety of activities for young people to participate in including
Pool table, DJ'ing, Wii, card games, board games, and our internet
suite. It is free for young people to come and access our activities,
we also have a tuck shop. Download the DYP general consent form here, this helps us to have emergency contact information and allows us to do more activities with the young people.
Schools work
Both Ben and Amy also work in the Behaviour Support team in the Downham
Market High School part time suporting young people in school.
Nurture
We are now working in partnership with the Downham Childrens Centre to
deliver the Nurture project and continue it's development.
